Tueri Regnum - Dev Log 3
My Level Design Consisted of 3 main Themes - Forest/Wetlands, Desert/Mountain, Valley/Archipelagos
Above is the Forest/Wetlands Themed Board. It showcases only 2 things with a hint of the third. First is Terrain As both factions spawn closer to the Water in this map they are introduced to the fact they are not Jesus. And Secondly is Terrain Costs Most of the terrain in this game has a base movement cost they are the "Default" Tiles and have no defining Features, the Second most prevalent Tile Type however is "Difficult" Terrain this tile has an increased movement cost and as such certain pieces cannot enter this Tile, Finally you may have recognized "Road" Tiles which have as you might have guessed a reduced movement cost to enter it's Tile allowing Units from both sides to move farther.
This is the Desert and Mountain Themed board. To prevail in the battle here you must understand how to fight with the strength and weakness of each of your units. The desert terrain showcased allows for every unit to travel greater distances, However the mountainous terrain does the opposite by restricting movement heavily.
The Island/Archipelago Themed board (Above) emphasizes Strategic "Pack Tactics". This board allows for a very small-scale squad-based gameplay pattern.
Tueri-Regnum will be showcased at the 2021 Florida Polytechnic Game Expo on Nov. 20
